Matěj Voda is a Czech conductor, notographer and arranger with experience in many musical genres. He has been conducting since 2014, when he began his studies at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory with Hynek Farkač, Jaroslav Brych and Jiří Petrdlík, then continued his studies at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts (in the class of Jakub Klecker and Robert Kružík), where he is currently in the Master's programme. He has actively participated in masterclasses with Maestro Dennis Russell Davies and Maestro Tomáš Hanus.

 

During his artistic career he has had the opportunity to collaborate with professional and non-professional orchestras such as the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, Camerata Janáček (chamber orchestra within the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava), ViSyo (Vinohrady Symphony Orchestra) and others. Matěj cooperates as a conductor, musical director or assistant conductor with a number of Czech theatres, for example with the National Theatre Brno, Brno City Theatre, JAMU Chamber Opera, Antonín Dvořák Theatre Příbram, Karlín Music Theatre and many others. Currently Matěj participated in the international conducting competition "Orchestra's Conductor 2023", where he was one of the semi-finalists and had the opportunity to work with the Filarmonica "Paul Constantinescu" Ploiești Orchestra.

 

In addition to conducting, he is also professionally involved in arranging and notography.
